Coordinator, Interpreting Services

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Coordinator of Interpreting Services at the Jamaica Association for the Deaf (JAD).

Job Functions include:

·         Providing Interpreting Services

·         Identifying and mentoring young interpreters

·         Providing support for the development and maintenance of a Registry of Interpreters

·         Functioning as an adjunct staff for interpreter training at the tertiary level

·         Spearheading advocacy for subsidized interpreting services

Requirements:

·         B.A. Degree required; M.A. Degree preferred

·         Certification as a Registered Interpreter

Experience in:

·         Training

·         Interpreting in varied settings (educational, legal, medical)

·         Programme Design and Implementation

·         Supervision of personnel
